About the Job,

The Pre-Sales Engineer position holds significant importance as a customer-facing role at Scrut Automation. Its core responsibility is to promote and advocate for Scrut Automation products and solutions with qualified prospects. Pre-sales engineers act as trusted advisors to both prospects and existing customers, effectively representing the customers' interests within the internal teams at Scrut Automation.

A crucial aspect of this role is shaping the Scrut Automation product roadmap by considering customer feedback and requests. It offers a unique opportunity for individuals to collaborate with prominent global organisations, assisting them in enhancing their Privacy, Security, and Third-Party Risk programs while exerting influence in these areas.


  • Collaborate with the Sales team to achieve sales targets by conducting technical demos and presentations.

  • Provide support to Sales and Marketing teams in creating compelling sales proposals and accompanying assets of exceptional quality.

  • Coordinate solutions design efforts with Sales, Research and Development (R&D), and Technical Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to ensure accuracy, and feasibility, and effectively demonstrate the offerings to prospects.

  • Engage in webinars and industry events, representing the company in the market to expand brand visibility and establish a strong presence.


  • The ideal candidate should possess 3-5 years of relevant experience in the technology industry, preferably in an Enterprise Cloud-based Software company.

  • Possess keen attention to detail and is capable of delivering the appropriate messaging.

  • Demonstrate self-motivation and the ability to work independently, with a quick learning curve.

  • Experienced in effectively prioritizing tasks when faced with multiple responsibilities.

  • Display exceptional communication skills, adept at conveying technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences in a clear and concise manner.

  • Comfortable delving into technical intricacies and resolving problems as they arise.

  • Have a background in SaaS/web technology and prior involvement in Pre-Sales engineering or solution implementation teams.

  • Demonstrated experience in selling, configuring, and delivering software demonstrations is essential.

  • Proficiency in implementing software products or solutions for enterprise-level companies is highly valued.

  • A strong understanding of web applications, including their architecture and design, is required.

  • Experience working with JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and API integrations is a definite plus.

Must have skills

  • Possess exceptional oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal skills.

  • Demonstrate experience in public speaking and participating in industry events.

  • Display strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

  • Capable of building relationships with stakeholders in marketing, sales, and engineering.

  • Exhibit strong entrepreneurial skills to thrive in a complex and rapidly changing environment.

  • Have prior experience in creating tools or processes to enable Sales or Pre-Sales Engineering teams.

  • Hold industry certifications in Third-Party Risk or Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC), such as the GRCP certification.
